Calling all Students and Residents interested in reducing the impacts of local flooding:
Enter the Hackathon
We are launching the Hackathon this summer and fall! The winning solution will receive an award and recognition! Plus students can earn community service credit (up to 15 hours). Read all about it in the Acton Exchange.
The final project will be a Hackathon Solutions presentation, an *in person* event.
Hackathon Events
Tuesday, August 19, 4:00pm – 6:00pm: Come early (between 4:00pm and 5:00pm) for a Meet + Greet at West Acton Gardner Field (rain or shine) plus FREE ice cream. Then join us at 5:00pm for a walk through the Conservation area and learn about the Hackathon. FREE ice cream for all students and adult volunteers before or after this event.
Tuesday, August 19, All day fundraiser at West Side Creamery in West Acton benefitting AB STEAM Hackathon & outdoor education. Must mention AB STEAM when ordering.

Are you a problem solver? Interested in environmental science and sustainability? Join a team or create your own team to develop strategies to reduce flooding and earn community service hours in the process.
Problem to Solve:
How can we reduce flooding and the impacts of flooding in Acton in a way that is economical, sustainable, and socially and environmentally friendly?
AB STEAM, with help from Integral Charitable Foundation, is working with Town of Acton Sustainability Office & Acton Conservation Division in partnership with EnergizeActon.org and the local community to develop strategies to reduce flooding.
